Nigerian musician Wizkid, whose real name is Ayodeji Balogun, gave some insights into the things that shaped his choices in life.

Ayodeji recently reflected on times when he and his siblings had to skip meals on a podcast. He made it clear that his poise would not be compromised by whatever level of celebrity.

The well-known musician behind the album “Made in Lagos” said that he is the fourth of eleven children—four of which are his mother’s biological children—in his family. He admitted that his worldview was greatly influenced by the lessons he learnt as a child.

He said;

“I came from the bottom, I know what it feels like not to have anything. There was a time in my life I have never even had breakfast, it was just lunch or maybe dinner,” 

Wizkid, who is renowned for keeping a low profile and staying out of the spotlight, thanked his late mother and father for their important mentoring.
