Punch News reports that controversial social media personality Idris Okuneye, better known as Bobrisky, and Nigerian musician and activist Folarin Falana, generally known as Falz, had a conversation about Bobrisky’s legal issues earlier this year.

According to Falz, Bobrisky requested N3 million from him in order to reserve a VIP area at the Correctional Facility.

This statement was made in response to a letter Martins Vincent Otse, aka VeryDarkMan, received from Falz’s legal team, Falana & Falanas Chambers, asking for the removal of accusations made against him.

The letter was in response to a social media post where VeryDarkMan claimed that Falz conspired with Bobrisky to “pervert the course of justice” by giving him financial support to secure a favorable court outcome. The letter, dated September 26, 2024, from Taiwo E. Olawanle, Falz’s attorney, provided more details on what happened.

It revealed that when Bobrisky asked Falz for help, the rapper turned down any financial contribution, saying it wasn’t needed.

The letter explained in depth;

“On May 4, 2024, Bobrisky contacted our client requesting a conversation. Out of goodwill, our client agreed, assuming Bobrisky might need legal guidance due to the charges against him. However, Bobrisky instead asked for N3 million to allegedly pay officials for access to a VIP section in the Correctional Centre.”

Although Bobrisky insisted and blamed his legal team for pressuring him to enter a guilty plea, Falz’s legal team emphasized that the rapper had not accepted any money.

Falana and Falana Chambers demanded a public apology across all platforms and an instant retraction of the disparaging remarks.

Legal action would follow failure to comply within 24 hours, with a claim for harm to Falz’s reputation among other things.

VeryDarkMan referenced Bobrisky’s claim in a widely shared video that EFCC agents demanded N15 million in exchange for dropping charges of money laundering. A probe has been initiated by EFCC Chairman Ola Olukoyede, notwithstanding Bobrisky’s denial of the claims.
