Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!Esther Okade is a mathematical prodigy who is both Nigerian and British. She earned a Ph.D. in financial mathematics from the University of Cambridge and is also the author of several children’s books, including Yummy Yummy Algebra.
She began attending the UK Open University when she was thirteen and graduated with a BSc in Financial Mathematics.
Esther has always been a math prodigy; she was able to handle challenging problems like quadratic equations when she was just three years old, and by the time she was seven she was planning to enroll in college.
She was just six years old when she received a C in math on the GCSE level exam, forcing her to sit the A-Level math exams.
She was then given the invitation to study mathematics at the University of Cambridge in the UK.
Esther has been homeschooled by her parents throughout, and in 2015, when she was 10 years old, she enrolled in the Open University (a distance learning institution), where she became the youngest undergraduate in the United Kingdom. A few weeks later, she started earning straight As and rose to the top of her class.
She graduated with a Bachelor’s in Financial Mathematics from the same university, and three years later, she earned a PhD in the same area.
