Zephaniah Bitrus Jisalo, an Abuja native, has been nominated as a minister by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who was a former All Progressives Congress, APC, presidential candidate.

He said that Tinubu’s nomination demonstrates his dedication to national unity in a statement released on Saturday from his media office in Abuja.

“I participated actively in the change from military to democratic rule and acted as secretary for one of the Policy Advisory Committee’s subcommittees. I am aware that Abuja residents have long desired this; it has now materialized. It has taken over 25 years for it to happen.

“People from outside Abuja or the North Central Zone won’t realize how important this is. Olawepo-Hashim told Jisalo on a visit to his Abuja residence that “many people have been trooping from the grassroots to congratulate the honourable gentleman.

Jisalo is the first resident of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to be appointed minister since 1999, serving as the representative of Abuja Municipal/Bwari Constituency in the House of Representatives.

He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Jos in Plateau State, where he also earned diplomas in criminal justice and administration and an advanced diploma in applied psychology.

He also attended the Institute of Mass Communication and Technology, where he graduated with a diploma in public relations, before enrolling at Thames Valley University in London to study government policies, planning, and implementation.
